JEWISH CHRONICLE, 15 AUGUST 2008
LIVERPOOL Restorers of Deane Road Cemetery held an open day to show that the cemetery, which opened in 1837 and held its last burial in 1904, can be restored. Saul Marks, treasurer at the Old Hebrew Congregation, who is heading the project, said: “Visitors gave us encouraging feedback, with many offers of help.” The event, which attracted £250 visitors, raised more than £200 towards the restoration.
