Henry Leveaux (c.1796-1859)

Henry Leveaux lived in Preston until 1834, but settled in Manchester a short time afterwards. He opened a “French bazaar and Temple of Fancy in the Town Hall Buildings, on the corner of Cross Street and King Street. He advertised it as an “elegant lounge”, selling a wide range of imported fancy goods from clocks and watches to perfumery and glassware.
